This is a simple top-down raglan project that is suitable for a garment newbie. The cap sleeves are knit along with the yoke - so no picking up stitches later. The front center texture gives a flattering lacey look and makes a weather appropriate garment for the Summer months.
As a fun fact, "Leesi" is from the root word ‘lace’ in Nigerian Yoruba language.
The recommended yarn for this garment is cotton and since cotton tends to stretch over time, the finished measurements for chest have 1 - 2 inch negative ease: 27 (31.5, 35, 39, 43.25) (47, 51, 55.5, 59) inches. 68 (79, 87.5, 97, 108) (118, 127, 139, 148) cm.
If using Lion Brand Pima Cotton Yarn as per sample in pattern, you will need: 3 (4, 4, 5, 6) (6, 7, 8, 8) skeins
It is available as a knit kit from Lion Brand. You would get all the yarn required for your size of interest, along with the complimentary pattern. To purchase the kit, please use my affiliate link here. Please note that I receive a small commission without any additional cost to you.
I hope you enjoy this project as much as I did, and still do!
